Knitting in Iceland 3rd September 2023 to 9th September 2023
Join us for a 6-night knitting holiday to Iceland, home to breath-taking scenery and rich knitting traditions. This tour will be joined by French-Icelandic designer, Helene Magnusson and you’ll enjoy a number of workshops with her and a visit to her inspiring studio. Excursions will take us to the relaxing waters of the Blue Lagoon and Iceland’s most popular route, the Golden Circle – with a woolly twist! We will visit local artisans, dyers and spinners and learn new and old methods – you are sure to have an unforgettable insight into the Icelandic culture and knitting heritage.
Baltic Cities Christmas Markets Knitting Tour 26th November to 2nd December 2023
This tour to Tallinn, in Estonia and Riga, in Latvia, is the perfect way to start your Christmas preparations. Tallinn is one of Europe’s newest capitals and boasts a rich mix of architecture and culture. The Old Town was almost untouched by war and remains perfectly preserved. A fine Christmas tree will be the centre piece of Old Town Square, where we’ll have some time to explore the Christmas market. We’ll visit the highlights of the city with our local guide and learn about Estonian handicrafts. Riga is the largest city in the Baltics and is a fascinating mixture of proud Latvian traditions and influences of the various countries that have occupied it. The Old Town’s architecture is stunning. We’ll visit the highlights of the city with our local guide and have time in the Christmas markets that take place in the city at this time of year. We’ll also explore the rich heritage of Latvian costume and take part in a mitten knitting workshop with a local expert. The tour is accompanied by our Arena Travel expert Carol Meldrum, who has designed a project which captures the spirit of this Baltic Cities tour perfectly.

Following the overwhelming popularity of our Christmas Markets tour to Tallinn and Riga, we are now offering you the chance to visit both cities in summer along with the third ‘Baltic city’, Vilnius. Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania, and its largest city. The architecture in the largest baroque Old Town in Eastern Europe is well known and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. We’ll take a sightseeing tour of the city and visit the National Museum, where we’ll learn about the homemade fabrics and traditions of the everyday clothing worn by the local population. Knit & Crochet in Finland 4th July to 10th July OR 1st August to 7th August
This tour will take us on a journey from Finland’s capital, Helsinki, north to Vaasa and Korsnas, home of the Korsnas sweater. On route we’ll meet and have workshops with local craft experts and enjoy three half day workshops with one of our Stitchtopia experts.
Madeira Crochet Retreat 6th July – 13th July 2023 OR 12th September to 19th September 2023
Lucy, crochet designer and blogger at Attic24, invites you to join her on the island of Madeira. Spend a week with Lucy at the 4-star Adults Only Four Views Hotel Baia hotel located in the heart of Funchal, the island’s capital. Three and a half days of workshops will combine instruction on colour theory with the opportunity to create a Madeiran-garden inspired momento of your time together. A panoramic island tour, an easy Levada walk, lunch at the home of one of the island residents and visits to Monte Palace Tropical Garden, the Botanic Garden and a Madeiran wine lodge will ensure that you’ll discover the scenic, cultural and culinary highlights too.
