UK Hand Knitting: supporting yarn shops

UK Hand Knitting: supporting yarn shops

The UK Hand Knitting Association have put together some advice for supporting local yarn shops:

To help local yarn shops, we have launched the Yarn Shop Love campaign, which is supported by by all the members of the UKHKA together with all the UK craft publishers, to encourage consumers to shop with their local yarn shop.

We have put together a list of ideas for how you might still use your local yarn shop:

– Check to see if your local yarn shop is on the UK Hand Knitting shop map. You will be able to see what services it is offering during the current situation, as we get extra information in from shops.

– Check to see if they are on social media or phone to check if they can still offer mail order or click and collect via phone or email.

– Check to see if they offer a personal shopping service over Skype or Facetime to help you choose your next yarn and pattern.

– Look out for online knitting groups and tutorials – these will also help you have extra social contact safely.
